Peacekeeper (Farscape)

Peacekeepers are a militaristic organization in the Farscape universe. Its members are composed mostly of Sebaceans, the half-breed Scorpius being a notable exception.

Peacekeepers are a military organization, which the children destined be Peackeeper soldiers indoctrinated at a very young age. The Peacekeeper employ several large groups as slave laborers, notably that Sykarans and Banik.

Individual Peacekeepers are forbidden to form relationships based on love, but purely physical relationships are commonplace, and some Peacekeepers are ordered to become breeding partners.

The Peacekeeper fleets are based around Command Carriers and are commanded by a commandant. As the Scarrans point out in The Peacekeeper Wars, if you can take take out the Command Carrier the fleet will crumble.


In the Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars miniseries, it is revealed that the Eidolons created a Peacekeeper guard as a project of peace by using humans as a genetic base. With the disappearance of the Eidolons from the galaxy 12,000 cycles before the Farscape setting, they became the familiar Peacekeepers.
