Penny Serenade

Penny Serenade is a 1941 film melodrama that tells the story of a couple who adopt a child, but must struggle to make ends meet when the man loses his job. It stars Irene Dunne, Cary Grant, Beulah Bondi and Edgar Buchanan.

The movie was written by Martha Cheavens and Morrie Ryskind , and was directed by George Stevens.

Cary Grant was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor for his work in this film.

The title refers to a song of the same name, which is one of several songs introduced into the film as part of Grant's reminiscences.
