Perfective aspect
The perfective aspect is a grammatical aspect. Along with the aorist aspect and the imperfective aspect, the perfective aspect is one of three aspects used in Indo-European languages. In modern Indo-European languages, the concepts of aspect and tense are usually conflated, though they were once distinct.
The perfective aspect denotes that the verb in question refers to an action of some fixed duration; as opposed to the imperfective, which denotes actions or events that are ongoing or otherwise unbounded temporally.
