Pescara Circuit

The Pescara Circuit was a 16.032-mile road race course near Pescara, Italy.

The circuit hosted its first race in 1924, boasting two long straights between villages, as well as demanding corners in the seaside town. The roads were both narrow and bumpy, and the staggering 16-mile length was the longest of any open-wheel championship event.

In 1957, the Pescara Circuit played host to the short-lived Formula One Pescara Grand Prix, which drew an enormous crowd in excess of 200,000 spectators. Its last race was a world championship sportscar race in 1961, after which the course was permanently retired as a racing venue due to safety concerns.
