Petaling
Petaling is a district located in the state of Selangor in Malaysia, not to be confused with the town of Petaling Jaya located in it.
The district of Petaling was established on 1 January 1974, the same day Kuala Lumpur was declared a Federal Territory. This district is located in the middle of Klang Valley and in 2000 has a population of 1, 181, 034 people. The three main towns located in this district are:
It is host to:
- many thriving townships such as the Damansara area, which hosts several commercial complexes including a Tesco outlet, and the largest Ikea outlet in Southeast Asia
- the area of Subang Jaya with Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport
