Peter Wisdom

Peter "Pete" Wisdom is a comic book superhero in the Marvel Comics universe. Wisdom is a former Secret Service agent with the ability to throw 'knives' of energy from his fingertips. He was briefly a member of Excalibur. He was involved with Kitty Pryde for a while, but she eventually ended the relationship and he left the team. Wisdom is rarely seen in anything other than a scruffy suit or without a cigarette in hand and has a somewhat antagonistic (though friendly) relationship with the other team members, particularly Lockheed, who was jealous of his relationship with Kitty.

Pete Wisdom was intially created by writer Warren Ellis early on during Ellis' two year run on Excalibur (issues 83-103). His first appearance as an agent for the British covert organization Black Air was in Excalibur 86. Soon therafter he left Black Air and joined the Excalibur team, and remained until issue 120 when his relationship with Kitty Pryde ended and he left.

After Excalibur dissolved, he was briefly affiliated with X-Force His first appearance in this comic occured in X-Force issues 94 and 95, where he requested X-force's aid in recovering a cybernetic brain from Genosha, fighting Magneto in the process. Soon after Warren Ellis became the writer of X-Force, and Wisdom appeared as the new leader of the team beginning in issue 102. He acted as a mentor and showed the team members how to use their mutant powers in new ways. However, at the end of the first major story arc in issue 105, Wisdom was apparently murdered.
