Phajje ke Paye, is one of the best known traditional food outlets in Lahore. The original restaurant is located within the city's red light district, better known locally as Shahi Mohalla or Hira Mandi. The place is inside the historic Walled City's Taxali Gate, virtually a stone's throw from the city's greatest tourist attractions Badshai Mosque and the Lahore Fort.

Lahore, the cultural heart of Pakistan is known for the quality and variety of its cuisine. Cricket legend Imran Khan noted in his autobiographical account All Round View (ISBN 0 7011 3330 9) that the best food in the world is sold on streets of Lahore. One old Lahori favourite is 'paye' - goat's shins slow-cooked in a fatty, spicy stew. They are usually eaten with thick soft naan bread. Originally relished for breakfast by residents of Walled City of Lahore, paye are now eaten at all times - Phajja sells them until past midnight. Phajja is a popular corruption of Fazl-i-Haq, the name of the place's founder.
