Pierre Dupuy (Canadian diplomat)

Pierre Dupuy (1896 - May 21, 1969) was a Canadian diplomat.

Born in Montreal, he studied law and international law at the University of Montreal and at the Sorbonne in Paris. In 1922 he joined the department of External Affairs working in Paris. During World War II he reported back to the Allies about Vichy France. After Canada broke off relations with Vichy on November 9, 1942, he stayed in London to represent Canadian interests with the Allied governments-in-exile.

From 1945 until 1952 he was minister to the Netherlands. From 1952 until 1958 he was ambassador to Italy and from 1958 until his retiremet in 1963 he was ambassador to France. In 1963, he was named Commissioner General of Expo 67.

In 1967 he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada.
