Pinkpop

Pinkpop Festival or Pinkpop in short, is an annual rock festival held at Landgraaf, Netherlands. It is the oldest open air festival in the Netherlands and probably in the world. It is held annually on the pentecost weekend. In 1970, the first festival took place in Geleen, part of municipality Sittard-Geleen and was held only on Monday of that weekend.

Today, the 3 day festival is held from Saturday to Monday and is visited by approximately 60000 people with performances on 3 separate stages. In 35 years, 1.5 million people have attended Pinkpop. More than 400 musical acts have played at the festival.

Pinkpop 2005 will take place from May 14 to 16. Faithless, The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Feeder, Mercury Rev, Polyphonic Spree, Bloc Party and The Bravery are among a few of the confirmed bands.

Past performers

Notable perfomers from 2004 included Muse, Moloko, Starsailor, Pixies, N.E.R.D., and Franz Ferdinand.
