Pitlochry is a burgh in Perthshire, Scotland, lying on the River Tummel within the Scottish Council Areas of Perth and Kinross. It is largely a twentieth century town, having grown as a tourist resort, in particular a centre for hill walking. The town has two whisky distilleries (Edradour, which is billed as the smallest distillery in Scotland, and Blair Athol), a small theatre, a small brewery (Moulin Brewery), and a hydroelectric power station. The dam which provides the power is known for its 311-metre-long salmon ladder; fish can be viewed leaping from weir to weir within the ladder, via an underwater viewing station or via video from inside the visitor centre.
The town is bypassed by the main A9 Inverness to Perth road, and has a railway station.
