Pleasant Hill, Kentucky
Pleasant Hill, Kentucky is best-known for being the site of a former colony of the Shaker religion. Much of their former community is maintained as a tourist attraction and museum. Re-enactors portray Shakers on the site but no actual Shakers have lived there for many years. There is a restaurant and a bed-and-breakfast operation associated with the museum. Pleasant Hill is located 24 miles southwest of Lexington, Kentucky in the Bluegrass region.
