Political parties in North Korea
Political parties in North Korea informs about political parties in North Korea. North Korea is a single-party state. This means that only one political party, the Workers Party of Korea is legally allowed to hold effective power. North Korean politics works therefore on the united front principle common in communist countries. The North Korean front is called the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland. It consists of the following official political parties:
- Workers Party of Korea (Chõson Nodongdang, also translated as Workers' Party of Korea and Korean Workers Party)
- Korean Social Democratic Party (Chõson Sahoeminjudang)
- Chondoist Chongu Party (Ch'ondogyo Ch'ong-u-dang)
