Cup of Portugal

(Redirected from Portuguese Cup)

The Portuguese Cup or, more correctly, Cup of Portugal (Port. Taça de Portugal) is the national football competition, on a knock-out-basis.

Before 1938, the same competition was held under the name National Championship (Campeonato Nacional) and defined the Portuguese Champion.

In 1938 the name was changed and the competition turned into the second-most important competition in Portugal.

The final game is played at the Estádio Nacional in Jamor , Lisbon.
