Prayer flag
Prayer Flags are typically related to Tibet and linked to Tibetan Buddhism, but their origin lies in the Tibetan pre-Buddhist tradition of Bön, just as the the so-called Wind Horse which is often found on them.
It is believed that the special blessing power of the printed mantras, prayers and auspicious symbols on them is spread all over the world by the wind. They decorate monasteries, houses and even mountain passes. Prayer flags are not only strung on ropes to hang between two poles, they can also be hung like a flag from one pole.
