Provinces of Cameroon
Cameroon is divided into 10 provinces:
- Adamawa Province (Adamaoua) - capital Ngaoundéré
- Centre Province - capital Yaoundé
- East Province (Est) - capital Bertoua
- Extreme North Province (Extrême-Nord) - capital Maroua
- Littoral Province - capital Douala
- North Province (Nord) - capital Garoua
- Northwest Province (Nord-Ouest) - capital Bamenda
- West Province (Ouest) - capital Bafoussam
- South Province (Sud) - capital Ebolowa
- Southwest Province (Sud-Ouest) - capital Buéa
Most of these provinces were designated in the 1960s alongside Centre-South Province (split into Centre and Sud in 1983). At the same time, Adamawa and Extreme-Nord Provinces were split from North Province.
