Psilocybe
The genus Psilocybe consists of mushrooms containing the hallucinogen psilocybin. Its most notable members are:
- Stropharia cubensis, a.k.a. Psilocybe cubensis (native to Cuba; the most commonly consumed psychoactive psilocybe, due to relatively high psilocybin content and ease of cultivation)
- Psilocybe semilanceata (native to Western Europe)
- Psilocybe cyanescens (native to northwestern North America)
- Psilocybe mexicana
