Public Health Cigarette Smoking Act
In the United States, the Public Health Cigarette Smoking Act of 1969 (passed in 1970), required a stronger health warning on cigarette packages: "Warning: The Surgeon General Has Determined that Cigarette Smoking Is Dangerous to Your Health." It also banned cigarette advertising on radio and televison.
