Puchi Puri Yuushi
Puchi Puri Yuushi is an anime from Gainax that was originaly a game and soon became a full-blown anime due to it's popularity.
The series circles around a young woman named Yushi who is seventeen but has a curse that makes it impossible for her to become a full-grown woman and her cursed body is that of a ten-year-old. The only way for her to undo the curse seems to be the Platina Tiarra which grants the wish of the wearer, only she must earn the right to the Platina Princess to wear it and there are many girls who want that right. Thanks to her friends; human, demon, angel, etc., Yushi goes on constant day-to-day misadventures which explore their world and often find the crystals that make up the tiarra.
MAIN CHARACTERS:
Yushi: Yushi was founded by her papa on the side of the road and became his surrogate daughter. It was revealed some years later that she had a curse laid on her that kept her in tne-year-old body despite the fact that her true age is seventeen. Because of this, she can be a little insecure about herself physically when it comes to things like ballet, yet seems to be the leader of the other students. She meets Arc when she is taking a parttime job as a nun and doesn't take to him right away; especially when he kisses her forhead because he says it's big (she is VERY sensitive about her forhead), and threatened to tell everyone that "a guy on the run from the law" was in the villiage. After a second encounter, Yushi recieves her first real kiss from Arc and everafter finds herself thinking about him; since she is stuck in her minor body, the fact that she might be falling in love with him strikes her as a very disturbing realization. Her bestfriends happen to be Kokoru and Cube in the beginning. Her blue haif seems to be what makes her her as well as her white sweater-vest and red skirt.
Cube:
A fairly handsome young man, or demon, as that's what his race is with light tan skin and cream-brown hair that droops over one side of his face and always wears the same kind of shirt everyday. Cube serves Yushi and her father as their butler and manservant, though also seems to be Yushi's first bestfriend since he is almost with her whenever she is out and about, yet never says a negative thing when Yushi is around, prefering to sigh and wonder aloud how he gets into dirty work.
He has been working for Yushi and her fahter for seventeen years, maybe he and Yushi are the same age, as it is once implied that he might have a crush on Yushi. Cube serves as a main service of providing Yushi and the other girls with convenient items. He is also Grenda's supposed brother, as they both have the same facial features and skin-tone.
Papa:
A man who found an infant Yushi on the side of the road and adopted her as a daughter. "Papa" was once a great knight of legend, but now prefers to make very large meals which hardly anyone can finish (in facet, in the start of the series after dinner, Yushi says she never wants to eat until her next birthday). He dotes on Yushi and even Cube as if they were his own flesh and blood, which can be a bit embarassing.
Kokoru: This bespectaculed young woman is the first friend aside from Cube who Yushi makes in the start of the seires. Kokoru is not really secure in her physical appearance or design when she compares herself to Grenda, Erumina or even Yushi and often thinks she does not exist when her three other friends. The sweet, passive and palid Kokoru is often the soft-spoken voice of reason on the "team", even if she is ignored now and then by the others and is often the brains of her friends. This is probably also because she wears dull clothes. I'm not entirely sure if Kokoru wanted to be the Platina Princess or not, but that is how she met Yushi.
Kokoru has a ghost named Chowy who refers to her as "Kokoru-Sama" (Sama means "Lord" or "Master" in Japanese) or pulls minor pranks on her.
Grenda:
The "Gorgeous, beautiful, gifted with magical powers," Princess of Hell; which makes her father Satan--allbeit a rather forgetful one. Grenda is very proud of her title and prides her strength and power in all things magical until she is forbidden to use it infornt of humans. Grenda is byfar the most physically developed of the girls and shows off a small portion of her stuff, despite the fact that, like Yushi she is also stuck in the body of a ten-year-old. It's been rumored that she and Cube are siblings as "their" mother banished/abandoned him from Hell.
In the start of the series, Grenda is furious whenever she sees Cube because she sees him as a traitor for serving humans--possibly out of temper for her "brother" leaving her for humans--and seems to be jealous that he and Yushi get along so well. Grenda is hardly ever out of the company of her manservant Gaga.
Her rivalry with Yushi is on the grounds that they both want to be Platina Princess and Grenda does her best to make sure she gets to be on top while the "little girl" is on the bottom. But soon becomes as much a friend to Yushi as everyone else.
Grenda is at times aggressive, childish and spiteful, but deep down has as good a heart and caring heart as Cube.
Gaga: Gaga is a tall seven-foot black bodied cat-like demon with long silver hair. This very old man demon has ocassional accidents when his hip goes out and can make long-winded lectures that can put anyone listening to sleep, much to his annouayance.
Always loyal without question, Gaga will do whatever Grenda tells him to do whether he wants to or not, depending on whether it's his or her job.
It seems when Grenda isn't around, Gaga will flirt with any young woman present and it's not such a secret that he will take credit for someone elses' work. Gaga often lectures Cube on what it takes to be a "respectable servant" and is often contridicted by Cube when he takes credit due to the demon-boy. He also has the ability to transform into a black, red-eyed cat with bat-like wings.
Erumina: The Princess of Heaven, Erumina is a type of angel who more or less always dresses in tradditional robes no matter where she is. Erumina seems too much of a perfect young lady to be real as she is always polite, well-spoken, prefers to read than fight, knowldeged in many things, even the way she eats seems perfect, and seems to pick fights with Grenda because of her perfection. The reason for this is because when she was younger if she ever made a slight mistake her father would yell at her. The one thing always wanted was to see her father smile.
Due to this, Erumina seems void to the concept to things such as emotions, which seem to be quite alein to her on some levels other than that of friendship. Like Kokoru, Erumina is always ready with a wise word and seems mature and wise beyond her years.
Arc:
Arc is truly a mysterious young man who always goes around in a cape and Indiana JOnes-styled hat, which seems to imply that he is a sneak and scoundrel, which is half-way true. Arc has had encounters with Yushi alone and encountered by the other girls before. It is only when he is with Yushi that there seems to be some sort of chemistry between them despite the fact that she looks ten. Arc is a bit of a scounderl, since he kissed Yushi on her "big forhead" while she was taking an oddjob of being a nun. The only real kiss they shared was when she helped him escape Rosa the librarian, much to the shock of Yushi and her friends.
Chowy:
The servant of Kokoru who calls her "Sama", meaning master. Chowy is a little ghost who can take on Kokoru's form and arguing with anyone who puts Kokoru down, namely Grenda.
Beth: The main "vilian" of the series as she is so determined to become Platina Princess she is even willing to attack Yushi and the others whenever they are in a territory that she considers her property. Beth is a tomboy who always wears a black tube-top and hot pants and wears a hat-like helmet; despite this, Kokoru thought she was a boy.
Beth is very mysterious as we do not know exatcly what wish she intends to make once she gets the tiarra. Kokoru made the observation that Beth isn't all bad because she once saved her, despite the fact that she kidnapped her to begin with.
Berubel:
It's really interesting on why a cheerful little fairy would hang around such an antagonist such as Beth as her assisstant. Berubel is always polite and a little sensetive, Beth even made her cry once and seems to be the victim of many of Grenda's threats; it seems obvious that Grenda hates fairies. She wears yellow-green clothing that gives her an adorable appearance and adds "Desu" to the end of her conversations. Berubel seems to develop a small crush on Cube after a time.
