Pudsey
Pudsey is a town in the county of West Yorkshire, England, between Bradford and Leeds.
Formerly within the wapentake of Morley and Calverley Parish , Pudsey became a Municipal borough in 1889. It merged with Farsley and Calverley in 1937, and in 1974 became part of the Leeds Metropolitan District.
The town is famous for its wool manufacture in the 18th and 19th centuries and for cricket. Cricketers Sir Len Hutton, Herbert Sutcliffe and Ray Illingworth all learnt to play in Pudsey.
The town has given its name to "Pudsey Bear", the mascot of the BBC's annual fundraising marathon Children in Need.
