Puerto Cortés
Puerto Cortés is a city in the Cortés department of Honduras. It is on the Caribbean Sea coast, north of San Pedro Sula and east of Omoa, at 15.85° North, 87.94° West. It is Honduras's main sea port, which is the deepest in Central America. Puerto Cortés had a population of some 41,000 people in 2003. When it was founded in 1524 it was called Villa de Puerto Caballos.
