Pyotr Sergeyevich Novikov
Pyotr Sergeyevich Novikov (August 15, 1901 - January 9, 1975) was a Russian mathematician who was born in Moscow, Russia and died in Moscow, Russia.
He is known for his work on combinatorial problems in group theory: the word problem for groups, and the Burnside problem.
The mathematician Sergei Petrovich Novikov is his son.
