Quendor

Quendor is the name of the large fictional kingdom in which Infocom's Zork series of computer games is set. The history of Quendor was incrementally built and expanded per the plot requirements of each new game, rather than being set in stone early on with only minor details being fleshed out. Consequently, there are many gaps and outright contradictions between games.

The broad points that are usually agreed upon are this: the kingdom of Quendor was founded in the year 0 AE (or 0 GUE) by Entharion the Wise . It enjoyed a long and proud history until the year 770 AE, when Lord Dimwit Flathead the Excessive became king. In keeping with his sobriquet, Dimwit made a number of excessive changes, including renaming Quendor to "The Great Underground Empire".
