Quintessential Player
Quintessential Player (also called QCD) is a free, closed-source, skinnable, multi-format audio player made by Quinnware . Quintessential Player can currently only be used on the Windows operating system.
Development on Quintessential Player began in 1997.
Quintessential Player natively supports a number of formats, including MP3, Ogg, WAV, and CD audio. However, a wide range of formats can be played through the use of plug-ins.
Quintessential Player uses a free-form skinning engine, and accordingly, a wide variety of skinning options are possible.
Quintessential Player contains built-in support for CD ripping as well as encoding/converting files into various media formats. These features are included with the free product, unlike a number of other media players, which either do not support these features, or only do so in extended, pay versions of their software.
The current stable release of Quintessential Player is 4.51.
