RAINN

The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) in the United States is a toll-free, confidential and anonymous provider of counseling to victims of rape and sexual assault.

The phone number is 1.800.656.HOPE.

RAINN was founded in 1994 by Scott Berkowitz , the organization's president as of 2003. RAINN has attracted the attention of many celebrities, notably singer Tori Amos, who contributed a portion of the initial funding. She has remained their most avid spokesperson and a great deal of the attention brought to the organization comes from her fanbase. As of 2001 much of the funding to RAINN comes from the "Happy Birthday, Tori" parties; a series of fundraising events held throughout the world on (or around) the date of Amos' birthday.
