RAW (magazine)

RAW was a groundbreaking comics anthology edited by Art Spiegelman and Francoise Mouly . It featured some of the best artists from the underground comics and alternative comics movements including Kaz, Kim Deitch, Robert Crumb, Joost Swarte , and many others. It is no longer in print, but some material from the original magazines is currently available in reprint collections.

The first eight issues of RAW (volume 1) were printed in a magazine format, bound with staples down the center. The final three issues (volume 2) were printed in a 'digest' or 'paperback' format; these issues were published by Penguin Books and were much more widely distributed than the earlier issues.
