RMS Republic
The RMS Republic launched in 1903 by Harland and Wolff at Belfast, she was British flagged and registered at Liverpool, operated by White Star Line.
The RMS Republic was approximately 570 feet (174 m) long, with a 68 foot (21 m) beam, a deadweight of 15,378 tonness, she provided accommodations for first, second, and third class passengers.
In early morning of January 23 1909 she collided with the SS Florida off the north western coast of the USA, and sank the next day whilst under tow to New York. 3 crew and 3 passengers died in the collision, the remaining crew transferred to SS Florida and then to the White Star Line's RMS Baltic
