Intro
"It's all you ever hear. Look like this, think like this, be like this. How do you fight it? We start our own radio station. We keep our identities secret. It gives us the power to say what we want, as loud as we want," the voice of Nathan Stephenson rings out as the theme song to Radio Free Roscoe begins. The theme of Radio Free Roscoe is clear from those first few sentences - freedom, and expression. What better way to make people listen to you?
Storyline
In the town of Roscoe, the airwaves are dominated by Cougar Radio - Henry Roscoe High School's radio station. It's completely biased and run entirely by the principal, Waller. When Robbie McGrath, a ninth grader, is accepted to work at the station, he is appalled by the lack of freedom the station has. In rebellion, he recruits two of his best friends, Lily Randall and Ray Brennan, along with new kid Travis Strong (another ex-Cougar Radio member) to start their own independent radio station - Radio Free Roscoe (RFR for short), 88.1 FM at 4:00 every afternoon. They create alter-egos so as not to be discovered by Cougar Radio, who would love nothing more than to destroy them. But these four ninth graders had no idea that having a radio station isn't as easy as it sounds, because any time you're in the public's eyes, you have enemies and friends, and general teenage angst - will this destroy them, or only make them stronger?
