Raging Cow

Raging Cow is a line of milk-based beverages created by Dr_Pepper/Seven_Up,_Inc. Five flavors of the beverage were produced: Berry Mixed Up, Chocolate Caramel Craze, Chocolate Insanity, Jamocha Frenzy, and Pina Colada Chaos.

The mascot of the beverage is also known as The Raging Cow.

Controversy

After the introduction of the beverages in March 2003, there was controversy over the marketing practices of Raging Cow. In particular, many webloggers were upset about a section of the Raging Cow website where the fictional mascot of the beverage, The Raging Cow, kept a weblog full of journal entries about his life. The protesters thought that this was a misuse of weblogs for marketing purposes, and organized a protest against the beverage.

Status of the Beverage

Since the protest began, the official Raging Cow website has went offline. An official webpage about the beverage still exists at the Dr Pepper/Seven Up website, but current information about the distribution of the beverage is unknown. Before the website was taken down, the Raging Cow beverages were only available in a few cities across the United States, an example of test marketing. Currently, many Raging Cow vending machines are stocked with other Dr Pepper/Seven Up products, and the status of the beverage is unknown.
