Rajgir
Rajgir is a town in Bihar, India, about 10 km from Nalanda.
It has been a place of historic significance from the days of Mahabharata. Mahabharata tells about the wrestling match that took place here between Beem and Jarasandh . Jarasandh was invincible as his body could rejoin any dismembered limbs. Bhim split Jarasandh in two and threw the two halves facing opposite to each other.
Rajgir is also famous for its associatiaion with Murya Kings Bimbsara and Ajatshatru . Ajatshatru kept his father Bimbsara in captivitiy here.
Lord Buddha spent a significant amount of his time preaching buddhism here.
