Rania Iyad Aram
Rania Iyad Aram was an 8-year-old Palestinian girl killed by the Israel Defense Forces on October 28, 2004. A resident of the Khan Yunis refugee camp in southern Gaza, she was walking to school when Israeli soldiers at an army outpost near the Jewish settlement of Ganei Tal killed her with random machine gun fire, according to witnesses. The Israeli army claimed that soldiers were firing toward an area where mortars were launched. Israeli Defense Force officials promised to investigate the incident.
