Rapan language
Rapan is the language of Rapa, (and once of Marotiri) in the Austral Islands of French Polynesia. It is classified as an East Central Polynesian language, along with the Marquesic and Tahitic languages.
The language is sufficently different from the rest of the languages in this group as to warrant its own category within this classification, and is assumed to have developed in relative isolation for nearly 700 years.
