Raumati
(Redirected from Raumati South)
Raumati is the name of two neighbouring towns on the Kapiti Coast of New Zealand's North Island. Both are located between 50 and 60 kilometres northeast of Wellington, and immediately to the southwest of the larger town of Paraparaumu.
Raumati Beach is the northern of the two towns, both of which are popular seaside settlements on the coast of the Tasman Sea. It has a population of 4100. The town's main landmark is Kapiti College.
Two kilometres further south is the town of Raumati South, which has a population of 3200. To the south of this town, between it and the town of Paekakariki, is the Queen Elizabeth Park, a 12 km² park used during the filming of The Lord of the Rings, where it represented the Pelennor Fields.
