Real Time with Bill Maher

Real Time with Bill Maher is a political, current event, and satire-based weekly television talk-show. The show is hosted by Bill Maher and features several different guests each week, along with a live studio audience. It airs live on HBO every Friday night at 11:00 PM EST, and runs for approximately 60 minutes. The show is filmed in California, but many guests appear via satellite.

The format of the show usually features an opening current events or political sketch, followed by the credits and a comedy monologue. Maher then interviews an important figure before sitting down with three panel guests for an extensive debate. Near the end of nearly every episode, Maher has a segment called "New Rules" which serves as a humorous editorial. The guests on Real Time are of many different ideological dispositions, and are sometimes comedians.

Larry King calls Real Time one of the best shows on television, and Maher has been a regular guest on Larry King Live.
