Record medium
In telecommunication, the term record medium has the following meanings:
- The physical medium on which information is stored in recoverable form. For example, magnetic tape or disk.
- In facsimile transmission, the physical medium on which the recorder forms an image of the object, i.e., creates the recorded copy. Most commonly, a sheet of paper.
Note: The record medium and the record sheet may be identical. Synonym: record sheet.
