Regice is a rare ice Pokémon made completely out of ice with no brain. Modern scientists are confused about how it is animated, since there is nothing in its body that would make it move or think. The ancient people who made Regice sealed it away because it was too powerful. This Pokémon has a huge Special Defense and a normal Special Attack but low Attack and Defense. This makes it good to use as a tank when fighting Special Attackers. Use against strong Physical Sweepers is not reccomended.

Name Origin

Regi means "royal," so Regice would mean "Ice King."

Availability

You can only obtain Regice in Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire when you unlock the secret cave of the Regis. To do this you must bring a Relicanth and Wailord to the cave. Place Relicanth as your first Pokémon and Wailord as your last. Then talk to the braille in the back of the room, which says:

  • IN THIS CAVE WE HAVE LIVED.
  • WE OWE ALL TO THE POKEMON.
  • BUT, WE SEALED THE POKEMON AWAY.
  • WE FEARED IT.
  • THOSE WITH COURAGE, THOSE WITH HOPE.
  • OPEN A DOOR.
  • AN ETERNAL POKEMON WAITS.

When you get to the Regice cave, wait 2 minutes without moving. The door should open.
