Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
The Remnant Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a denomination of the Latter Day Saint movement, created from a schism with the Community of Christ, the movement's second largest denomination.
The Remnant Church considers itself to be a "remnant" of the church founded by Joseph Smith Jr. in 1830 and "reorganized" by his son Joseph Smith III in 1860. The Remnant Church was "renewed" and incorporated as a separate organization in 2000.
Members of the Remnant Church believe in the doctrine of Lineal Succession. The Prophet of the Remnant Church, President Frederick Niels Larson, is a direct descendent of Joseph Smith Jr. The church has its headquarters near the Temple Lot, across from the temple and headquarters of the Community of Christ.
