Richard Doll
Richard Doll (b. October 28, 1912 ) is a British epidemiologist, physiologist, and a pioneer in the research linking smoking to cancer, by being the first in the world to prove smoking caused lung cancer.
His career has been marked by controversy, including claims that Doll over-stated the links between other environmental factors and cancer, and that he was too supportive of industrial interests.
