Riparian forest
A Riparian forest is a forested area of land adjacent to a body of water such as a river, stream, lake, pond, sea, marsh, etc.
Riparian forests act as ecological transition zones between aquatic and land habitats.
Riparian forests help control sediment, often reduce the damaging effects of flooding, and aid in the stability of riverbanks. [1]
