River Wallington
The River Wallington is a small river in south Hampshire flowing past Fareham, before entering Portsmouth Harbour.
It has a reputation locally as a river prone to flooding. When the river broke its banks in 2001 there was significant damage to many houses in North Wallington and Wallington Shore Road. Since then Fareham Borough Council has introduced a number of measures to minimise the effects of flooding, including bulldozing the river bed adjacent to Broadcut.
