Riyal
The riyal is the currency of Qatar (ISO 4217: QAR) and Saudi Arabia (SAR). The two currencies are kept close to parity: as of March 2005, one SAR equals 0.97 QAR, while there are 4.84 SAR to the euro. The SAR and QAR are both set to the US dollar; there are 3.75 SAR to the US dollar and 3.64 QAR to the US dollar.
The similarly spelt rial is the official currency of Iran, Oman and Yemen.
