Robert Quiroga

Robert Quiroga (October 10, 1969 in San Antonio, Texas - August 16, 2004 in San Antonio) was the International Boxing Federation super flyweight champion from 1990 to 1993. Quiroga successfully defended his title 5 times and retired in 1995. He finished with 20-2 with 11 KO's.

A passer-by on Interstate 10 flagged down an officer who found Quiroga lying next to his car. Quiroga had been stabbed multiple times. Ricky Merla, a former member of the motorcycle club The Bandidos, is being sought by police in connection with Quiroga's death.

An annual fundraiser is held in San Antonio in Robert's honor. You can find out more about Robert at the Official Robert Quiroga Website.
