Alkemade

Alkemade (population: 14,481 in 2004) is a municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality covers an area of 30.88 km² (of which 3.93 km² water).
The municipality of Alkemade comprises the villages Kaag, Nieuwe Wetering, Oud Ade, Oude Wetering, Rijpwetering and Roelofarendsveen. There is no settlement called Alkemade itself.
