Rolando Fonseca
Rolando Fonseca Jiménez (born June 6, 1974 in San Jose, Costa Rica) is a Costa Rican football player, who currently plays striker for LD Alajuelense of the Costa Rican first division.
Fonseca has played for Alajuelense, Deportivo Saprissa, CSD Comunicaciones of Guatemala, Independiente Medellín of Colombia, and Toluca and La Piedad of Mexico.
In Costa Rica, he has played a total of 253 games, scoring 100 goals, between the league's two best teams, Saprissa and Alajuelense. He has won Costa Rican championships in 1993-94, 1994-95, 1996-97, 2001-02, and 2002-03. Additionally, he has won CONCACAF Champions' Cups in 1993, 1995, and 2002. He finished the 2003/4 season with a disappointing six goals for the team.
Fonseca has also been a fixture on the Costa Rica national team since 1992. As of early 2005, he has played in 96 games, and is currently the team's all-time goal leader, with 42. Fonseca played in two games for the team at the 2002 World Cup.
