Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Venice
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Venice is an ecclesiastical territory or diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in Italy. Is is led by a prelate bishop called the Archbishop of Venice. Traditionally created a cardinal in consistory by the pope, the archbishop concurrently holds the title of Patriarch of Venice. The motherchurch of the archdiocese is the Basilica di San Marco in Venezia.
