Rotunda (architecture)
A rotunda is a term frequently applied to any large round building, often covered by a dome. It can also refer to a round room within a building (a famous example being within the US Capitol). The Pantheon in Rome is a famous rotunda. Several cities have buildings referred to as "the Rotunda", among them:
- The Rotunda (Birmingham)
- The Rotunda (Dublin)
- The Rotunda (Thessaloniki)
- The Rotunda (University of Virginia)
