Roy Z
Roy Z is a guitarist, composer, and producer.
His real name is Roy Ramirez. He changed it in the 1980s for ethnic names weren't not "trendy" and became: Roy Zerimar. People started calling him Roy Z and it stuck.
He is most known for his work with Bruce Dickinson (lead singer from world famous heavy metal band Iron Maiden) on the albums Balls to Picasso, Accident of Birth, The Chemical Wedding and A Tyranny of Souls, where he takes most of the song-writing credits and production.
After producing the solo Rob Halford album, Crucible , Roy Z was asked to produce the new Judas Priest album with the original band members reuniting. He spent most of 2004 mixing it and Angel of Retribution was finally released in March 2005.
The mastering of the new Bruce Dickinson album is finished and a May 2005 release for Tyranny of Souls is now slated.
Roy Z also founded the Tribe of Gypsies , a rock band with Latin influences. He is still their guitarist.
