Rudy Boesch (born January 20, 1928) was the oldest competitor on Survivor: Pulau Tiga at 72 years of age. He got third place after losing a physical challenge, where he let his hand slip from a pole, near the end of the season.

Shortly after the show finished airing, Boesch released a book, The Book of Rudy, which contains his opinions on various things.

Just less than three years after the first Survivor, Boesch participated in Survivor: All-Stars, where he was voted off second.

Boesch served in the U.S. military as a Navy SEAL team leader, and retired after completing over 45 years continuous activity. From 19681970, Boesch completed two combat deployments to Vietnam. Among his numerous awards, Boesch earned the Bronze Star Medal for heroic action during more than 45 combat operations. During and after his stint in Vietnam, Boesch was designated the "Chief SEAL," and set physical and operational standards at SEAL Team TWO . He attained the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer and was honorably discharged on August 1, 1990.
