Rumiñahui (from Quechua rumi=rock, ñahui=face) is a dormant heavily eroded volcano 4721 m height. Situated 40 km south of Quito in the Andes of Ecuador, it is overshadowed by its famous neighbour Cotopaxi. It is easily climbed.
The volcano is named after Rumiñahui, an Inca general of the time of the Spanish conquest of the region now known as Ecuador.
