São Paulo State Symphony
The Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo (OSESP) (in Portuguese, or São Paulo State Symphony in English), is one of the leading symphonic orchestras in Brazil. It was founded in 1954 by conductor Souza Lima, and it was directed by conductor Eleazar de Carvalho for 24 years until 1996. In the following year, it was completely restructured under the leadership of conductor John Neschling .
Sala São Paulo
In 1999, Sala São Paulo opened as a concert hall and the new home of OSESP. It ocuppies buildings of the imposing Estação Júlio Prestes , and it can accommodate 1,509 spectators.
