The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications is a communications school at Syracuse University. It was named for newspaper publisher Samuel I. Newhouse, who donated $15 million to the university for a journalism school. Designed by I.M. Pei, the school was dedicated on August 6, 1964 by President Lyndon B. Johnson. A second building, called Newhouse II, was built in 1974. Plans for a third building are underway as of 2004.

The Newhouse School is best known for its broadcast journalism program, which is ranked as one of the best in the United States. The school also has programs in advertising, print journalism, photography, speech communication, and media management. Graduates of Newhouse have gone on to positions with NBC, ESPN, The New York Times, and The Associated Press, among others.
